James Madson

Director of Technology & Technical Services, Wells Fargo Renewable Energy & Environmental Finance

James Madson is a Director of Technology & Technical Services within the Wells Fargo Renewable Energy & Environmental Finance (“REEF”) team.  He leads technical diligence on utility-scale wind (onshore and offshore), solar and energy storage tax equity investments, supports analysis of new sectors such as green hydrogen as well as supports the on-going management of the existing REEF investment portfolio.  Prior to Wells Fargo he worked in a variety of commercial and technical roles with Pattern Energy, BP and Gamesa Energy and his experience includes business & project development, engineering, technology, M&A, strategy and leadership as well as financings and joint ventures for renewable projects.  James has been in the utility-scale renewable power sector for twenty years and has directly contributed to the deployment of over 6 GW of renewable energy projects.  James received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and a MBA from Rice University.
